Dead Gypsy Girl >>>

All day long yesterday I was feeling a bit sad that I wasn't going to be dressing up for the first time in my life for Halloween.  I was so busy with my work day, and after being so busy in general all month long, I sort of gave up on the idea of participating in my favorite holiday.  But as the hour approached to leave the house for our annual trick or treating with our friends kids, I couldnt bare it.  I threw together a last minute outfit, and had no idea what I was going to be as I was getting dressed.  But it turned out to be a half decent dead gyspy girl.  My heart was contented as we walked out the door.  Its crazy how unnatural it feels to not dress up.  We enjoyed walking the streets of our home town with our friends, and then bbqing at our other friends house out in the hills.  A good low key but fun evening full of beautiful people expressing themselves in the night.  Love it.  I wore one of my moms headscarves to top the outfit off.  She wore these when she lost all her hair from chemo and radiation.  And my Moorea Seal bracelets and Maie Dae ring were the icing on the cake :)

What did you dress up and do this halloween?

PEACE,
Laura

  1. Ah! Laura! That is probably the most amazing, spontaneous Halloween outfit I have ever seen! :) I didn't get to dress up...to much studying to do. Better get back to it!

  2. Your outfit came out great! My little brothers were army soldiers and my sister and I were black stormtroopers. Our outfits were VERY last minute as well! We grabbed the masks and blaster rifles from our brother's closet and painted them black :)

  3. I am so envious of your brilliant outfit! We weren't allowed to dress up at my day job this year, but I decided not to listen and I scrounged my closet for anything gyspy-like, but failed. You on the other hand, simply nailed it. It's completely and utterly gorgeous.

  8. Very nice costume! :) Sadly, I didn't get to dress up this year. If I had I would've been a gypsy again!

  11. So cute! I'm still bummed that I missed my chance to dress up this year. I'm already planning for next year. I am thinking Little Red Riding Hood, the teacher from The Magic School Bus series or a bumblebee in honor of Beeweave.

  12. Oh! I love it!!
    Great costume idea.
I dressed as a goth. It was a lazy outfit and not much of a push for me as pretty much all my clothes are black. I will try harder next year!!

  14. Awesome. I love it :)

I was zombie amy whinehouse...maybe a little too soon to whip out that costume, but it was the easiest thing I could think of being with what I had in my closet...

  16. I didn't dress up at all :( I had classes that ended at 6:30, so I got home way too late to do anything special. Oh well, there's always next year!

LOVE this costume though, really beautiful :)

  20. Lovely! I know how you feel last year we were in Cali for my favorite holiday and I didn't dress up or decorate the house or even make one Halloween morsel...it was very depressing for me. Even though I was very busy this year, I decided to throw something together (I thought about the gypsy thing, since I have enough gear)...I went with a skeleton lady/dia de los muertos type thing for a Saturday night party. Then I made some eyeball cupcakes on Monday! I felt like both turned out pretty well..
    Love the costume!
